About

MANGA Hours is an online news site that is dedicated to bringing you the fastest and most interesting news related to One Piece anime, manga, and games. All my values are taken from guys like sanji about treating women, zoro about a man pride and when they should put it aside, luffy about what a hero is, fisher tiger about how you shouldn't care about how a person look but how he is, dragon about how you need to stand up and make a change even people like doflamingo about how the world isn't fair and how the rulers are a selfish scum compared to the bad people of the world.

I just wanna show my appreciation and to see if anyone shares the same opinion as me.

World building To me the world of one piece is very relatable there is alot of good and bad stuff, there are good people labeled as bad and bad people pulling the strings. Each islands are different distinct and adds to the story or the situation be it because of snow where luffy has to get a jacket, to the jungle where nami contracted that disease, to the threat of water 7 having really high tides. not to mention we are on a elephant right now with Zou. The point is that unlike other writers Oda adds importance to the areas the characters are in and they are all distinct.

Character designs and characters in general: While I dont like all the designs in one piece like for instance how Moria look, I can appreciate that Oda atleast gives people defining features, but regardless of how a character look in one piece if Oda gives a backround story to them I bet you will end up liking the character anyway. Examples for that for me is more recently is Senor Pink where I went from "meh" to tearing up.
There is alot of gray in one piece and even "Evil" characters such as Doflamingo cares deeply about his family even if they failed him... Which is a fresh of breath from most shonen series were villains get little characteration and usually kill their subordinates.

The amount of planning and foreshadowing While some may hate the relativally low kill count in one piece I see it as a way to weave characters into odas famous cover arts or to inject characters in other arcs without it seaming bad. I mean if luffy killed crocodile or mr 3 who would have helped him in impel down for instance? While I dont really feel that the main characters are at threat much its because Oda has already written alot of sad stories and deaths in the peoples past that they dont need to have the loss of a nakama to give the story more of that kind of suspense and I cant really see which of the crew that would die during the series anyway without having a big fan backlash. I mean that was the point of killing of Ace to give Luffy motivation to protect his crew.
Now as for forshadowing the Mr.Prince theory and Lola being daughter of Big Mom is just one of the few, but brilliant Oda brings past events to the present in his story and Oda unlike Toriyama has very few inconsistancies. The only thing that Oda has been iffy about is haki and that was mostly visual.
